About

Galen J. Williams is an Atlanta native, multi-hyphenate creative. His creative abilities include singing, dancing, acting, choreographing, teaching, writing, and producing. As a BFA graduate of Howard University's Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts and MFA graduate of University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts Acting program, he has worked in theaters across the nation from Tony Award-winning regional theaters to Broadway. He is most recently featured in the box office smash hit movie “One of Them Days” alongside Keke Palmer and SZA. His television credits include POSE on FX, the Daytime Emmy-Nominated Digital Series "The Gaze” which he starred in and wrote on, and soon to be announced appearances on BET. He made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of "Motown the Musical", and his Principal Broadway debut in Jeremy O'Harris' riveting production of "Slave Play" in the role of Gary.

As a writer, Galen has written a One Act Play, two short films, two pilots, one feature and a proof of concept adaptation of the aforementioned feature. Just recently his feature length script "Grand Prize" was awarded Official Selection for the Hollywood Black Film Festival.  He aspires to have a production company of his own to help his community of Black and Queer creatives to produce their own work and add to the gambit of Black and/or Queer representation in media today.

Within his career in entertainment, Galen also serves the community as a teaching artist and professional acting/dialect coach. His expertise in the craft of acting has been formulated into a system of tools and techniques known as Galen’s Essential Methods of Storytelling for Stage/Screen (G.E.M.S) that equips actors with the tools necessary to deliver powerful performances rooted in authenticity, individuality, honesty, and creativity in the mediums of television, film, and theatre. He teaches Acting and Speech for the RISE Musical Theatre Program at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy and has choreographed productions for El Camino College and New Manchester High School. With a combined following of over 85K across social media platforms, he has generated over 10M views and 2M likes for his Maya Angelou impersonations and accent mastery.

He is also the owner and creator of Braids by Galen, an in-home braiding salon servicing the Los Angeles community through natural hair stylings including braids, locs, and barbering.
